The International University of Science & Technology in Kuwait (IUK) is a newly established private university in Kuwait, with a new Campus located in the heart of Kuwait near the Avenues Mall. Fully accredited by the Private Universities Council (PUC), the University offers a wide range of academic programs in Engineering, Business, and Arts and Social Sciences. In addition to the academic programs, the IUK has established the University Foundation Program (UFP) that offers English and Math foundation programs.
IUK is seeking a highly motivated Public Relations & Communications & Events Specialist.
Position Summary
The primary role of the Public Relations & Communications & Events Specialist is to be responsible for
managing the university's public relations, external communications, and event coordination. This role ensures that IUK's brand image is consistently and positively represented across all platforms, enhancing visibility, reputation, and engagement.
Responsibilities
  • Drafting and distributing press releases, media advisories, and official statements.
  • Developing and managing content for announcements, invitations, speeches, and campaigns.
  • Monitoring media coverage, analyzing performance, and preparing media performance reports.
  • Supporting internal communication efforts (faculty/staff announcements, newsletters).
  • Assisting in protocol coordination for high-profile visits, ceremonies, or collaborations.
  • Collaborating with the marketing team to develop and implement communication strategies.
  • Managing crisis communication with appropriate messaging and quick response.
  • Organizing, planning, and executing university events and ensuring smooth event logistics.
  • Ensuring message consistency and brand tone across all outgoing communications.
  • Managing sponsorship communications, partner announcements, and follow-up messaging.
  • Crafting and editing official documents, including sponsorship letters, proposals, and event toolkits.
  • Coordinating external communications with media outlets, journalists, and external partners.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree from an accredited University.
  • Professional Certificates are an asset.
Experience
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in PR, Communications, or Event Management, preferably within an educational institution or corporate environment..
  • Experience in planning and supervising events.
