Job Summary:
The Butcher I will be responsible for cutting, trimming, boning, and grinding meats in a butcher shop or meat processing facility. They will also be in charge of maintaining equipment, ensuring meat quality, and adhering to safety and sanitation standards.
Job Responsibility
- Cut, trim, bone, and grind meats according to customer specifications or recipe requirements
- Weigh, package, label, and price meat products for display and sale
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels, ordering supplies as needed
- Ensure cleanliness and organization in the butcher shop or processing area
- Inspect meat products for quality, freshness, and proper temperature
- Adhere to safety procedures and guidelines when operating equipment and handling meat
- Proven experience as a Butcher or similar role
- Knowledge of meat cuts, preparation techniques, and safety standards
- Ability to use butcher tools and equipment, such as knives, saws, and grinders
- Physical stamina and strength to lift and move heavy cuts of meat
- Attention to detail and precision in cutting and packaging meat
- Certification or training in meat processing is a plus
